Cell viability was detected in Bel-7404 and HepG2 cells at 24, 48, and 72 h post-treatment by using the CCK-8 Assay Kit (Dojindo) in accordance with the manufacturer's instructions. Simply, cells were seeded in 96-well plates at a density of 2 × 103 cells/well and incubated with CCK-8 solution for 2 h at 37°C. The optical density (OD) at 450 nm was detected by a microplate reader (Synergy H1; Biotek, Winooski, VT).
