Antifungal Susceptibility Testing

CSF (Merck Research Laboratories, New Jersey, USA) minimum inhibitory concentrations were determined by broth micro-dilution testing using the CLSI guidelines M27-A3. Drug concentrations ranged from 0.016 to 16 μg/ml CSF. Exponentially grown cultures were diluted to 2 × 10⁶ cells/ml in 2x RPMI-1640 and 100 μl of culture was added to each well. Plates were incubated for 24 h at 37°C. After incubation, optical densities were read in a VERSAmax tunable microplate reader (Molecular Devices, California, USA) at 405 nm.
