2.6. Determination of Malondialdehyde (MDA) Content

MDA was measured based on the thiobarbituric acid (TBA) assay, during which MDA reacts with TBA to generate a reddish-brown substance that is maximally absorbed at a wavelength of 532 nm. Specific measurement procedures were implemented using 1 g of pericarp tissues according to the report by Duan et al. [32]. The MDA content was expressed as μmol kg−1 FW.
