A priori sample size estimation was carried out to ensure there was enough power to detect differences between the two methods. We utilised the recordings we made while experimenting with the best position for the Kinect camera. Using the mean and standard deviation of this data, we calculated the sample size required for each trial, using G*Power. The results are shown in Table 2, along with the actual sample size used for analysis.
The data came from an initial study, used to ensure the placement of the Kinect camera was correct.
