For the hanging wire test, each mouse was placed on a wire cage top with its edges taped off. The mouse was placed on the center of the wire lid and the lid was shaken gently to prompt the mouse to hold onto the grid before the lid was swiftly turned upside down. Each mouse was allowed up to three attempts to hold on to the inverted lid for an arbitrary maximum of 60 s, and the longest latency was recorded.
