Animal experiments were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) of Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine (Approval number: YWC-170907-3). To establish the mouse xenograft model, five millions of Calu6 cells were subcutaneously injected into the right flank region of 4-week old female Balb/c nude mice. When tumors grew enough to be tangible, mice were randomly divided into two groups (Vehicle group n = 5, SU6656 group n = 7). Mice were intraperitoneally treated with SU6656 (20 mg/kg) every other day for 23 days. Tumor volume and body weight were measured every two days, and tumor weight was measured after sacrificing mice at the end of the experiment. Tumor volumes were determined with a digital caliper and calculated using the formula ½ × (width2 × length). The animal experiments were compliant with the animal care guideline of Yonsei University Wonju College of Medicine.
