Tubulin polymerization was performed using the tubulin polymerization assay kit (Cytoskeleton Inc., Denver, CO, USA). Briefly, tubulin polymerization was monitored by measuring the absorbance readings at 340 nm. In all conditions, tubulin concentrations were 3 mg/ml in 80 mM PIPES pH 6.9, 0.5 mM EGTA, 2 mM MgCl2, 1 mM GTP, polymerization volumes were 100 µl. Absorbance was measured at 1 min intervals for 1 h.
