SGC-7901 cells were purchased from the Shanghai Institutes for Biological Sciences, Chinese Academy of Sciences (Shanghai, China). The cells were cultured in RPMI-1640 medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum (Invitrogen™; Thermo Fisher Scientific, Inc., Waltham, MA, USA) at 37°C in a humidified incubator containing 5% CO2. Hypoxia was induced by adding CoCl2 (final concentration, 100 µM) in the culture medium. Cells with satisfactory growth were selected for subsequent experiments.
