NO production was measured using NO assay kit based on the Griess reaction. The BV2 microglial cells (2.0 × 105 cells/ml) were cultured in 96-well plates and pretreated with CAT for 2 h before treatment with LPS (0.5 μg/ml). After 18 h, NO level was measured in the culture supernatant using the Griess reaction. The OD of the mixture was read at 540 nm in a microplate reader.
