Apoptosis Assay

Apoptosis assay kit Annexin-V-FITC/PI (BD Biosciences, San Jose, CA, United States) was used to measure the apoptotic activity within the cells. The kit was used according to the manufacturer’s instructions. In brief, the cells after overnight adherence were treated with 20 μM OX. At 0, 24 and 48 h posttreatment the cells were collected by trypsinization, washed and suspended in binding buffer. The cells were then stained and analyzed by flow cytometry using a BD LSRFortessa analyzer (BD Biosciences) as reported earlier (23). The data was quantified and expressed as percent of the cell counts.
