H2O2 contents were measured according to the previously optimized protocol [43]. Frozen leaf samples (approximately 1 g) were mixed with 4 mL of 0.1% (w/v) trichloroacetic acid (TCA). The mixture was then centrifuged at 12,000×g for 15 min. Afterward, the supernatant (1 mL) was mixed with 1 mL of 10 mM potassium phosphate buffer (pH 7.0) and 2 mL of 1 M potassium iodide solution. The H2O2 concentration was estimated by measuring absorbance at 390 nm. Experiment was repeated three times.
