The T47D cell line was obtained from ATCC (Rockville, MD, USA). These cells were grown in culture medium comprising of RPMI 1640, supplemented with 10% FBS, 1% penicillin/streptomycin, 1% l-glutamine, 1% glucose, 1% sodium pyruvate, and 0.08% insulin solution. Seeding concentration was 5 × 104 cells/ml and cells were cultured at 37 °C in a humidified atmosphere with 5% CO2 until 80–90% confluent.
