HEK29343 and Vero cell lines (ATCC # CCL-81) were propagated in Dubelcco’s modified Eagle medium supplemented with 10% fetal bovine serum. HSV-1 strain F (kindly provided by Dr. J. Blaho) or syn17+ (kindly provided by Dr N. Sawtell) were used for the experiments and were propagated and titered on Vero cells.
