The colons were removed on ice and fixed in neutral paraformaldehyde for 48 h. The colon tissues were embedded in paraffin, sectioned at a thickness of 4 μm, stained with hematoxylin-eosin (HE), and sealed with neutral balsam. The slides were observed and photographed under a light microscope.
