The LFP and N700 deflections in response to high and low transitional probabilities of geometric shape patterns served as our marker of VSL. In order to understand individual variation in robustness of VSL, we calculated the relative amplitude difference between each condition, for both the N700 and LFP components, by subtracting the averaged probabilistic response from the averaged deterministic response. The differential responses served as our marker of VSL at 3 months of age and were used to test the correlation with nonverbal cognitive ability and ASD symptomology at 18 months.
