We conducted statistical analyses using MATLAB 2013b and the LIMO EEG toolbox (Pernet et al., 2011). Throughout the paper, square brackets indicate 95% confidence intervals computed using the percentile bootstrap technique, with 1,000 bootstrap samples. Unless otherwise stated, median values are Harrell–Davis estimates of the second quartile (Harrell & Davis, 1982).
