The F127-DMA polymer used in this study was synthesized using methacryloyl chloride as described in the literature.4 Briefly, Pluronic F127 was dried and subsequently dissolved in anhydrous toluene under a nitrogen atmosphere. Triethylamine was added, and the solution was cooled to 0 °C. A solution of methacryloyl chloride in anhydrous toluene was added dropwise to the solution. After complete addition of the methacryloyl chloride solution, the reaction mixture was warmed to room temperature and allowed to stir for 24 h. The polymer was collected via vacuum filtration, concentrated under reduced pressure, and reconstituted in fresh toluene. This process was repeated two more times. The polymer was once again dissolved in toluene and precipitated in diethyl ether. The polymer was rinsed twice with fresh ether and collected via centrifugation. The polymer was dried in a vacuum oven to afford a fluffy, white powder.
