Colitis Induction With Dextran Sulfate Sodium

DSS-induced colitis model was established using a method described previously (21). Briefly, MK2Lyz2−KO and MK2Lyz2−WT mice (n = 6 per group) were given 3.5% DSS (36–50 kd; MP Biomedicals, Solon, OH, USA) in drinking water for 7 days to induce experimental colitis and sacrificed on day 8. During the treatment of DSS, body weight was weighed every day. After sacrificing the mice, the colon length was measured from the end of the cecum to the anus.
