5.10. Cell Culture

The lung cancer cells A549, human cervical cancer cells HeLa, and African green monkey normal kidney cells Vero were purchased from NCCS, Pune (India). The cells were cultured in Dulbecco’s modified Eagle’s medium (DMEM) containing 10% fetal bovine serum, 1% glutamine (200 mmol/L), 1% (v/v) penicillin (10,000 IU/mL), and 100 mg/L streptomycin in a humidified 5% CO₂ atmosphere at 37 °C before use.
