Sections of muscle tissue (8 μM) were cut from frozen mouse quadriceps muscles or from frozen human muscle biopsy tissue. Sections were air‐dried for 1 hour on SuperFrost Plus slides and then stained with H&E. Stained slides were imaged on a VS120 Virtual Slide microscope (Olympus) at 20× magnification. Details on the grading of histopathologic features of the muscle can be found in the Supplementary Materials and Methods (http://onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/art.41215/abstract).
