Hematoxylin and eosin (H&E) staining and histologic grading of the muscle tissue sections

Sections of muscle tissue (8 μM) were cut from frozen mouse quadriceps muscles or from frozen human muscle biopsy tissue. Sections were air‐dried for 1 hour on SuperFrost Plus slides and then stained with H&E. Stained slides were imaged on a VS120 Virtual Slide microscope (Olympus) at 20× magnification.
