Lung cancer cell apoptosis was measured using the Annexin V–FITC Apoptosis Detection Kit (BD Bioscience, USA), following the staining procedure as per manufacturer's protocol. Briefly, 105 cells after single or combined drug treatment were washed with PBS and resuspended in binding buffer with Annexin V/propidium iodide staining. After staining, cells were detected and analyzed by flow cytometry (BD Bioscience). Approximately 20 000 cells were collected.
