High-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) analysis was carried out using a Thermo Separation Products apparatus (Thermo Scientific, Waltham, MA, USA) equipped with RI Plus and PDA detectors and an Aminex HPX 87H + column (300 × 7.8 mm id) (Bio-Rad, Hercules, CA, USA). The flow rate was 0.6 mL/min, the temperature was 60 °C, and 0.005 M sulfuric acid was used as the phase. Identification and quantification of compounds was carried out based on standard compounds: formic acid, acetic acid, propionic acid, and lactic acid (Sigma) [19].
