Water content reflects tissue edema of flap. On POD 7, six flap tissue specimens were weighed and then dehydrated in an autoclave at 50°C. We weighed all specimens every day until the weight was stabilized for 2 days. The percentage of water content was calculated as: Tissue water content = ([wet weight - dry weight]/wet weight) × 100%.
