LORR, also known as Sleep Time, is the phenotype the LS (Long Sleep) and SS (Short Sleep) mice were originally selected for. Mice were given an intraperitoneal dose of ethanol and placed on their backs in a v-shaped tray. LORR was measured by the difference in time (minutes) between the regain of the righting reflex and the time of the initial loss of the righting reflex [35]. Both male and female mice were used for this experiment and the strain means were reported. LORR is a measure of the sensitivity of an animal to the hypnotic effects of a high dose of ethanol. The LORR data consisted of 76 strains, but had 58 strains that were also in the three genomic datasets.
