Bone marrow samples for research were obtained from patients with AML according to a study protocol approved by the Cleveland Clinic Institutional Review Board, with written informed consent obtained prior to inclusion in the study. Experiments using patient-derived xenotransplant models of AML were approved by the Cleveland Clinic IACUC.
