Mice were bred at the animal facility of the Heinrich‐Heine‐University Duesseldorf under specific pathogen‐free conditions. B. Zalc kindly provided PLP‐GFP mice.36, 37 In these mice, GFP is expressed under regulatory elements of the PLP gene in oligodendrocytes and located in the cytosol as well as in the myelin sheath (B. Zalc, personal communication).
