Chronic liver fibrosis model in mice and liver damage model evaluation

Mice were given one injection of either 200 uL of mineral oil (control) or 10% solution of CCl₄ in mineral oil via an intraperitoneal route twice a week (Khurana and Mukhopadhyay 2007). After 4 weeks injury, some mice were submitted to serological tests and histologic analyses for the evaluation of the animal model. Mice were separated into three groups, 18 mice of each group were randomly designated as a cell transplantation group, control group and normal group, as shown in Table 1.
