Total RNA was isolated from microdissected brain tissue using the RNeasy lipid tissue mini kit (Qiagen). Synthesis of cDNA was carried out using the iScript Reverse Transcription Supermix for RT-qPCR (Biorad). qPCR was performed on a CFX96 real-time system (Biorad) in a 20 μl reaction mixture using SsoAdvanced Universal SYBR Green PCR master mix (Biorad). Cycle parameters were 10 s at 95 °C and 30 s at 60 °C. Data were normalized to GAPDH. Primer sequences are listed in Supplementary Tables 1 and 2.
