The phase curve in Fig. 2 is calculated by employing the finite difference time domain (FDTD) simulation method by Lumerical Solutions27. In the simulation, we have used 2D (XY) FDTD simulation with periodic boundary conditions along X-axis and absorbing PML boundary condition along Y-axis. For the calculation of the phase of the GMR signal, we have used the ‘s-parameter analysis group’ of Lumerical with the following simulation parameters: auto non-uniform meshing with minimum mesh step of 0.25 nm, the maximum mesh accuracy of 8, stretched coordinate PML type and sufficient simulation time of 2000 fs.
