Cell survival assays were performed as described previously [76]. Briefly, cells were mock-treated or treated with 4-OHT for 4 h, followed by recovery in fresh medium. Cell survival was monitored 4–5 days post-recovery by MTT assay using a microplate reader (VersaMax ROM version 3.13). Percentage cell survival was calculated as treated cells/untreated cells × 100.
