The cardiotoxicity of PS and PTS was determined by comparing the heart rate of zebrafish larvae at 6 dpf, because monitoring zebrafish heart rate is a great tool in drug development and toxicity study [26,27]. Briefly, zebrafish larvae were placed under a stereomicroscope (Olympus SZ2-ILST) for 4 min at room temperature for allowing embryos to acclimate to the light. The heart rate was calculated by counting the number of heart beats in 1 min. The obtained results were expressed as average heart rate per min.
