A. tumefaciens (strain LBA4404) cultures carrying plant expression vectors were grown overnight in LB medium supplemented with appropriate antibiotics, collected by centrifugation, resuspended in agroinfiltration buffer (10 mM MES, pH 5.7, 10 mM MgCl2 and 150 μM acetosyringone) to an OD600 of 0.5 and incubated for 2 h at room temperature. Middle leaves of six-week old N. benthamiana plants were infiltrated using a syringe without a needle.
