4.4. Senescence Assay

A549 cells were transfected using DNA-In^TM A549 and incubated for 72 h. The cells were then stained for β-galactosidase activity, a signature mark of cells undergoing oncogene induced senescence, using a kit from BioVision (BioVision, Milpitas, CA, USA). Cells were stained for 12 h and then quantitated using five random fields repeated over three assays per sample. Final quantitations are represented in percentage positive cells per field of view.
