β-carotene and lycopene were extracted from fruits and were analyzed by HPLC according to the method previously described by Xu et al. [73]. Extracts were analyzed on Agilent 1100 HPLC system equipped with a C18 Kromasil column (250 mm × 4.6 mm, 5 µm). The acetonitrile:methanol:dichloromethane ratio was 70:15:15 as the mobile phase, with a flow rate of 1.0 mL·min−1 isocratic elution and a 10 μL injection volume with a detection wavelength of 450 nm in 35 min. β-carotene and lycopene contents were calculated using a standard curve method and expressed as mg·kg−1 FW. There were three replicates for the measurement of β-carotene and lycopene.
