We used a demographic, occupational, and health data self-reported questionnaire. The questionnaire was validated by the Epidemiological and Preventive Medicine Department in the Tel Aviv University School of Public Health. The CAT score was used to assess disease-related symptoms.13 Exacerbation history of COPD patients during the past year was taken from medical records. Exacerbation was defined by the patient having been hospitalized due to COPD exacerbation/pneumonia or treated as an outpatient with prednisone plus antibiotics due to worsening of respiratory symptoms.
