Mysm1tm1a(Komp)Wtsi mice (Mysm1−/−, MKO) and Mysm1−/−p53−/− mice (DKO) have been described previously [17], and were handled in accordance with the guidelines for animal experimentation approved by the Regierungspräsidium Tübingen, Germany (#1162, 08/2014; #1261, 16 June 2016). Skin samples from postnatal (p1-3), 4-week-old (p28), 8-week-old (p55), and 7–8-months-old MKO mice and their wild-type (WT) littermates were used for analyses as indicated (n > 3).
