MT-4 and MT-2 cells at a density of 15,000 cells/well were incubated in 96-well plates in the presence of compounds at 37°C in 5% CO2 for 5 days. Simultaneously, cells were exposed to HIV-1 (2,32102 TCID50/ml). Untreated and infected or AZT (3′-azido-3′-deoxythymidine)-treated cells were used as controls. After the incubation period, diluted culture supernatants were analyzed for HIV production by determining the amount of viral core protein using a p24 enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) kit (Fujirebio) according to manufacturer's instructions. The results were expressed relative to the control of untreated HIV-1 infected cells. The experiment was performed in four biological replicates. Statistical analysis was performed by one-way ANOVA followed by Bonferroni's post hoc test.
