By virtue of their sensitivity and reproducibility, conductivity measurements provide an accurate method for determining CMC in anionic and cationic surfactants [29]. CMC is calculated from the point of intersection of two lines in conductivity versus surfactant concentration plot in two regions corresponding to surfactant monomers ([SDS] « CMC) and aggregates ([SDS] » CMC). Figure 1 illustrates the determination of CMC at two different temperatures and in the presence of CA as an additive.
