B-cell lineage colony-forming units (CFU-preB) were quantified after 9 days of culture of whole BM cells or after 7 days culture of sorted p190 BCR-ABL expressing B-cell precursors in M3134 methylcellulose (StemCell Technologies) supplemented with 30% FBS (for mouse B lymphoid colony forming cells; StemCell Technologies), 2 mM L-glutamine, 100 U/ml penicillin and 100 μg/mL streptomycin, 100 μM β-mercaptoethanol (Fisher-Scientific), 1% BSA (Roche Diagnotics), 20 ng/mL of recombinant mouse IL-7 (PeproTech), and 100 ng/mL of recombinant mouse SCF (PeproTech) [73].
