Blast2GO (BioBam Bioinformatics, Valencia, Spain) software was used to perform gene ontology (GO) enrichment for differentially expressed MBPs to catalog the molecular functions, cellular components, and biologic processes. A value of P < 0.05 was considered as the criteria for significant GO enrichment. ReviGO (http://revigo.irb.hr/) and Cytoscape (v.3.5.1; Cytoscape Consortium, San Diego, CA, USA) were used to summarize and visualize GO enrichment results to reduce redundancy. Kyoto Encyclopedia of Genes and Genomes (KEGG) enrichment was also performed to annotate pathways based on differentially expressed MBPs; KEGG pathways with values of P < 0.05 were subjected to further analysis.
