(Non-)monotonicity types

To analyze our results we made a division between different types of (non-)monotonicity. Response curves can be classified into monotonic and non-monotonic curves. We furthermore divided the non-monotic class in curves with one maximum (type 1), curves with one minimum (type 2) and curves with both a minimum and a maximum (type 3), see Fig 3.
