This study was performed in accordance with the relevant guidelines and regulations and was approved by the ethical committee of Tianjin Medical University Cancer Institute and Hospital, China. Female Nu/Nu mice (6 weeks old, 16–18 g) were used for the xenograft experiments. Briefly, H1975 cells (1 × 106 cells in 0.2 mL normal saline) were injected subcutaneously into the right thigh of each mouse. When the average tumor volume reached 200 mm3, the mice were randomized into four groups to receive the following treatments: no treatment [control group (NC)]; HS-10182 (5 mg/kg per day, days 6–12); RT (10 Gy/5 fractions on days 8–12); and RT (10 Gy/5 fractions on days 8–12) + HS-10182 (5 mg/kg per day, days 6–12). Tumors were measured three times per week and tumor volumes were calculated as follows: volume = depth × width × length × 0.5.
