In order to determine the robustness of our meta-analysis, sensitivity analyses by sequentially removing each high risk study was conducted and the remaining data set for the primary outcome was reanalyzed. Additionally, a previous study suggested that the probability of positive results reported in studies of certain languages, such as Chinese, were significantly higher than other languages [17]. Therefore, a “special” sensitivity analysis was planned by excluding Chinese studies to confirm if the Chinese articles affect the results of pooled analysis for the primary outcome.
