Cells were grown overnight at 37°C on swarm-permissive CM55 (Oxoid, Hampshire, UK) agar with antibiotics as needed and harvested with LB. LPS from cells was extracted using an LPS extraction kit according to the manufacturer's instructions (iNtRON Biotechnology Inc., Seongnam, Gyeonggi, South Korea). Extracts were resuspended in 10 mM Tris buffer (pH 8.0) and run on a 12% SDS-PAGE gel. The gels were stained with a modified silver stain protocol (45).
