Cells were fixed with 3% glutaraldehyde and processed through ethanol dehydration steps. Subsequently, cells were critically point dried, sputter-coated with carbon, and examined by SEM (Quanta 250, FEI, Hillsboro, OR, USA). Cell spreading was categorized into 4 stages according to previous publication.12
