The vaginal epithelial tissue was removed immediately, fixed in 10% neutral formalin (Zhongshan Kang Naixin Biomedical Science and Technology Co., Ltd.) for 24 to 48 h, and then processed to obtain paraffin blocks. Paraffin-embedded blocks were routinely processed; 5 µm thick sections were prepared (26).
