Formaldehyde crosslinking assays were performed as previously described [65]. Trypsinized cells were resuspended and incubated in a 1.0–1.5% formaldehyde solution at room temperature for 30 min. Then, the reaction was quenched by the addition of a 1.5 M glycine solution to a final concentration of 0.15 M and incubated at room temperature for 5 min. Cells were pelleted by centrifugation at 4000 rpm at room temperature for 5 min and resuspended and washed twice in PBS. Products were analysed by western blot using PCNA (PC10) or Myc-tagged antibodies.
