After cell harvest, cell numbers were counted using a cell-count board before cell lysis. The total quantities of glutathione and oxidized glutathione (GSSG) were measured using a GSH and GSSG Assay Kit (Cat#S0053, Beyotime Biotechnology, Jiangsu, China) and normalized by cell number according to the manufacturer’s instructions. GSH quantity was calculated using the formula of total glutathione minus twofolds GSSG.
