The human/rat CRF, astressin-B and astressin2-B (J. Rivier, Peptide Biology Laboratories, Salk Institute, La Jolla, CA) were stored in powder form at −80°C, and diluted in sterile saline (CRF) or water (astressin-B, astressin2-B) immediately before use. Tocinoic acid (Sigma-Aldrich, St Louis, MO, USA) was dissolved in saline.
