For chemical hypoxia 150,000 Caco-2 cells were seeded in each well in the 6-well plates, incubated for 24 h to allow their adhesion and 100 µM CoCl2 (Sigma-Aldrich; Merck KGaA, Darmstadt, Germany) were added to the medium and were incubated for 0, 3, 6, 24, 48 and 72 h.
